Furrows
Furrows are shallow and wide ditches on arable land with mild slopes and a small longitudinal gradient. They allow interception, infiltration and alternatively drainage of surface runoff. They should be dimensioned properly for meeting functional requirements and require maintenance.
Synergies may exist between heavy rain risk management measures and other development goals like environmental protection, health care, and economic performance. Harnessing them requires involvement of different actors, enforcement of exchange between you and them and holistic thinking.
